Philippians 4:1-7 "Gaining Harmony by Rejoicing and Praying"

In this sermon delivered by Dr. Fred Malone we learn of a dispute in the church at Philippi by two women. We are encouraged by Paul to bring an end to our problems with one another for God seeks harmony and unity for all believers. We are given an overview or cause of the problem and a simple solution is given for all believers when facing such issues between each other, whether it is be two Christians, or a husband and wife, or parent and children; we are all called to pray rightly with thanksgiving focusing our eyes upon Jesus Christ.

2 Samuel 22 "A Prayer of Thanksgiving to God"

In this chapter David wrote a song to God, a thanksgiving prayer for his deliverance from Saul. It is almost word for word Psalm 18. As Dr. Fred Malone reads through this chapter we learn the lessons David remembers in his earlier years after becoming king of Israel. We are called to remember what God has done for us.

Philippians 3:20-21 "A New Heaven, a New Earth and a New Resurrected Body"

In this particular message we are reminded of five things: we will all get a resurrected body, the world will be destroyed by fire and a new earth will be created, ALL things will be made new, there will be new types of relationships, and we are reminded to meditate on what God has saved us from.

Spiritual Depression Chapter 21 "The Final Cure"

This series ends with a reminder that if we do not "abide in the vine" we will be weak. We need Christ to strengthen us in our daily battles; without Him we will stay in our depression and sicken. At all cost we must maintain our communion with Christ with daily bible reading and prayer.

Philippians 3 "Thinking Clearly About Life"

Paul is encouraging us to think rightly about life. Paul wanted nothing to intefere with knowing Christ. His one thought was to attain the resurrection of the dead. This is the foundation in which our thinking should rest in order to see clearly. We are encouraged to think of Christ: what He has done for us in the past and what He will do for you in the future. Our citizenship is in heaven! We eagerly wait for our Savior. This is our hope. We are called to remember that nothing we experience now will compare to the glory that awaits us in heaven. With all this in mind we are called to live a godly life.

Spiritual Depression Chapter 20 "Learning to be Content"

In this chapter Elder Mitch Axsom explores the connection between contentment and depression. We are called in Philippians 4:10-12 to be "content in all things and in all circumstances." We need to ask ourselves if we are content with Christ alone. If all is taken away would we still be content? In this message we are encouraged to look clearly at our lives and ask ourselves, "What are the ways we seek contentment outside of God?"

2 Samuel Chapter 21

The chronological history of David finished in chapter 20 of 2 Samuel and will pick up in 1 Kings. In this section of chapter 21 we find a flashback in David's kingship that was not mentioned previously in 1 or 2 Samuel. God sends a famine against Israel because of a sin committed by the previous king, Saul. The kingship of Israel is being corrected by God in order to protect it. Two questions are addressed by Dr. Fred Malone in this message: Is there a a connection between man's sin and God's afflictions and is there a connection between repentence for sins and God's answer to prayer?

1 Philippians 2:12-14 "Living Faithfully as a Follower of Christ"

Often as Christians we want to live for Christ but it is so hard. Why is it so hard? How do we live faithfully as a follower of Christ? In this message Dr. Fred Malone discusses the two sides to Christian living: overcoming the sin that remains in us and working out our salvation with fear and trembling.

Spiritual Depression Chapter 19 "The Peace of God"

This particular message can be summed up in one verse: "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made know to God. And the peace of God, which surpassed all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

2 Samuel 20

This chapter is the beginning of a wrap up of 2 Samuel and a preparation for 1 Kings, where the history of David will pick up. David continues to struggle through great difficulties in the Kingdom of Israel; circumstances still seem to be chaotic for David and yet we see David relying on God's promises and faithfulness. God's purpose for Israel continue to be worked out.
