Psalm 23:4 "The Valley of the Shadow of Death"

Fred Malone explores two questions in this sermon: first--What is the valley that the Christian walks through? second--What should be, in light of Psalm 23, our response to this valley?

1 Kings 3:1-14 "A Warning from the Life of Solomon"

In these verses we see Solomon requesting wisdom from God and how this also compares with Solomon's sin by taking foriegn wives. We learn that Solomon did not love God's law and we will see the outcome of this in the coming chapters. This message is a warning to all who love wisdom and knowledge more than the words of God; who love the things of this world and how enticing this world can be.

Psalm 23:3 "God Guides us in the Paths of Righteousness"

This sermon is a reminder that everyday decisions for God need to start with walking in the path of righteousness. We need to seek God's will in our lives, but we need to begin with walking righteously before God. Two questions are addressed in this sermon: 1) What are those paths of righteousness? and 2) What is God's purpose for us?

Romans 8:12-17 "A Passage of Exhortation: Our Obligation, Adoption, and Inheritance"--Mike McKelvey

In this particulare message Mike McKelvey encourages us to meditate upon our obligation to God for the salvation given to us through the death of His Son, to remember what we have received in adoption, and to rejoice in our inheritance. If we would fix our eyes upon these things we would realized we need nothing more.

Romans 1:18-20 "Man Without Excuse"

In these verses Mitch Axsom reminds us of the importance of the gospel; we can see enough of God in creation to be withoug excuse, but not enough to be saved; you need to hear the gospel. Truth may be out in the open, but we are also reminded that ungodly men will make sure it doesn't get out. May we be encouraged in this message to preach the gospel to all nations!

1 Kings 2:1-4 "David's Charge to Solomon: Love God and Keep His Commandments"

As David lay dying he charges Solomon: "Be strong, therefore, and show yourself a man. Keep the charge of the Lord your God to walk in His ways..." In this particular message Fred Malone gives a simple charge to the congregation: to build our lives upon loving God and keeping His commandments; to lean upon God's words and truth. Like Solomon, we as a people will be directed in our paths if we are faithfully to this charge.

1 Kings 1 "Lessons From the Rebellion of Adonijah"

Adonijah decided to rise up and rebel against David. We learn the root of this rebellion in Adonijah was due to the poor fathering of David and as the chapter unfolds we learn that God protects David and Solomon. God's promises are kept to David in the working out of His providences, difficult as they may be.
