We are reminded in this sermon to make God our refuge, to remember His goodness and faithfulness, and to rely on His mercy. We are also reminded that our salvation can be assured when we read how David knew he would "dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

1 Kings 4 "Every Man Under His Vine and His Fig Tree"
"So Judah and Israel lived in safety, every man under his vine and his fig tree..." This is the theme in the Old Testament. This is the blessing God promised Abraham. In this message this verse is expounded and explained. In chapter four we get a glimpse of Israel worshipping not God but riches. Solomon has become a great king, but in his greatness he forgets God; in his prosperity there was something wrong.
